Gadsden Comprehensive Health and Education Center. Projected resources include a Congressional Earmark.
Development of a comprehensive health and education center in Gadsden County, Florida. House, coordinate and provide clinical and social services including prenatal care, pediatric care, primary care, and dental care, along with case management and counseling services. Centralized location with out posted services that operates afternoons, evenings and weekends. An education component with a focus on programs that prepare children for school, including child development and parenting resources. Mentoring, GED, literacy, computer training and job seeking skills. Collaboration with county resources including Gadsden County Health Department, Gadsden County Schools, Gadsden Community Hospital, and FSU resources including the College of Medicine, School of Nursing and the School of Education, and FAMU.

Improving Birth Outcomes through Better Pre-Pregnancy Maternal Health. Interconceptional Health Care Cost Analysis and Policy Implications: A Florida Perspective.
Identification of between-pregnancy risk factors for infant and fetal death through analysis of Florida’s matched birth/death records. The risk analysis will be used to create a programmatic and economic model to assess cost effectiveness of a set of health care services for the interconceptional period. Partners: Center for Health Equity, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Florida Department of Health. Application under development for the National Institute of Health Investigator Award (R03).

Gadsden Child Traumatic Stress Initiative, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, DHHS.
The Gadsden Child Traumatic Stress Initiative expands mental health services that are evidence based to children 3-18 years of age in Gadsden County, Florida. Children with a mental health diagnosis will be referred for services by a network of partners and providers that will create a seamless system of care for this most vulnerable population.
